What is Acro Yoga and what are its benefits?: Urban Sports & Wellness Week 2022

In collaboration with Jyan Yoga Studio, participants of Urban Sports and Wellness Week will get a taste of what it feels like to fly with friends

Known for its eye-catching movements through the air, acroyoga is a partner activity and a fusion of yoga and acrobatics.

Acroyoga is a good way for you to develop overall strength, increase your flexibility, coordination, body awareness and balance while helping you to build trust and learn to work with others through positive communication.

In a culture where there is an overemphasis on working yourself into the ground, acroyoga is also a great way for you to rediscover play and to reconnect with yourself through mindfulness and groundedness.

What Participants Can Expect

Participants for the acroyoga class can expect to learn the unique roles which the base, the flyer and the spotter play - all of which are equally important in the practice of acroyoga.

For more details about each of these roles, read our feature on acroyoga here.

Apart from the communicative and emotional benefits of acroyoga participants can also reap many physical benefits as well as they overcome challenges together with their partners.
