Thousands were expected to participate across a range of ride categories, including the new OCBC Cycle Speedway Open Championships on Saturday, but organisers cited constraints on security and road closures on the weekend of May 3, when Singapore heads to the polls.

OCBC Cycle has confirmed that its 2025 event will be switched to full virtual, after it was announced that polling day would fall on Saturday, 3 May 2025.
Singapore's biggest mass participation cycling event had to review the feasibility of the event continuing in a physical format and explored other dates but all dates at the Singapore Sports Hub have already been fully booked for the year.
Participants of OCBC Cycle 2025 received a text message on Thursday morning, informing them that the event would be switched to virtual, with all participants getting a full refund after they could not find an alternative date to host the event.
Thousands were expected to participate across a range of ride categories, including the new OCBC Cycle Speedway Open Championships on Saturday, the ever-popular Sportive 40km Ride, The Straits Times Ride, and the expanded Foldie Ride by Brompton on Sunday.
This year’s event had targeted over 7,000 cyclists of all ages and experience levels, from seasoned riders to weekend warriors and families looking for a fun day out on two wheels. The addition of the Speedway Open Championships marked a significant expansion of competitive elements within the event, offering amateur riders the chance to showcase their speed and strategy in a team-based format.

The event venue, Singapore Sports Hub, has served as the central hub for all activities of OCBC Cycle over the years, with family-friendly festivities, live entertainment, food stalls, and interactive sponsor booths contributing to a carnival-like atmosphere.
