Singapore to host the FIBA 3x3 World Cup Qualifiers for the first time

SINGAPORE, 25 February 2026 - Singapore is set to take centre stage in the global 3x3 basketball scene this April as it hosts two major international tournaments — the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2026 and, for the first time in history, the FIBA 3x3 World Cup Qualifier 2026.
Held at OCBC Square within the iconic The Kallang, the back-to-back marquee events will bring together elite national teams from Asia, Europe, South America and Africa. With continental pride and World Cup qualification on the line, fans can expect world-class competition in the heart of the Lion City.

Historic First: Singapore Hosts FIBA 3x3 World Cup Qualifier 2026
From 11 to 12 April 2026, twelve national teams — six men’s and six women’s — will compete for the final six spots at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2026, which will be held in Warsaw, Poland from 1 to 7 June 2026.
This marks a significant milestone for Singapore basketball, as the nation hosts the World Cup Qualifier for the first time. As tournament hosts, Singapore’s men’s and women’s teams will make their debut appearance at the Qualifier, adding further excitement for local supporters.
The FIBA 3x3 format ensures that every possession matters. With games played at high speed and often decided by narrow margins, the Qualifier promises intense, edge-of-your-seat action as teams battle for their place on the sport’s biggest stage.

Asia’s Best Return for FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2026
The action begins earlier in the month with the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2026, which runs from 1 to 5 April 2026. Now in its fifth consecutive year in Singapore, the tournament has become a cornerstone of the nation’s sporting calendar since 2022.
A total of 46 national teams from Asia and Oceania will compete at OCBC Square, starting with two days of Qualifying Draws. During this phase, 14 men’s teams and 16 women’s teams will fight for the remaining spots in their respective Main Draws, ensuring a fiercely competitive opening to the tournament.
Defending champions Australia will once again enter as favourites in both the men’s and women’s categories, as they chase a sixth Asia Cup title. In the men’s Main Draw, Australia will face regional powerhouse Philippines in Pool D, setting up one of the tournament’s most anticipated matchups. The Filipino squad will be determined to bounce back after narrowly missing out on the Main Draw last year.

On the women’s side, fans can look forward to another thrilling chapter in the rivalry between Australia and China, who meet in Pool B after delivering a gripping semi-final contest in the previous edition.
The stakes are even higher this year, as the champions of the Asia Cup will secure qualification for the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2027, which Singapore will host for the very first time.

Team Singapore Ready to Rise on Home Soil
Singapore’s men’s team, currently ranked 31st in the world, and women’s team, ranked 20th globally, will compete in both tournaments. Their participation in the World Cup Qualifier marks a historic first for the nation.
At the Asia Cup, both Singapore teams have been drawn in the same pool as regional contender Japan, setting up exciting matchups in front of a passionate home crowd.
The men’s team will look to build on their impressive 2025 campaign, where they reached the quarter-finals for only the second time in tournament history. With momentum from recent regional competitions and the invaluable support of home fans, the squad is eager to deliver another strong showing.

Tickets, Early Bird Savings and Fan Experience
Early bird season passes for both tournaments went on sale on 24 February 2026 and will be available until 3 March 2026 at 11.59pm. During this promotional window, fans can enjoy 30 per cent savings on selected season passes, including bundled access to both events or weekday passes for the Asia Cup.
Ticket prices remain accessible, starting from just $5, excluding booking fees, maintaining the same rates as the 2025 edition. Selected ticket categories also offer hospitality add-ons that include private lounge access, premium dining options and complimentary beverages, elevating the spectator experience.
In addition, members of the public can enjoy free entry to the first session of the Asia Cup Qualifying Draws on 1 and 2 April, subject to venue capacity. Children under four years old will also receive free admission to both tournaments, provided they do not occupy a seat.

Singapore Strengthens Its Status as a Global 3x3 Hub
With the Asia Cup, World Cup Qualifier and the upcoming FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2027 all anchored in Singapore, the nation continues to strengthen its reputation as a premier destination for international 3x3 basketball.
As anticipation builds, April 2026 promises a festival of high-calibre basketball at The Kallang, where every shot, every defensive stop and every buzzer-beater could shape the road to global glory.
