Fifth Edition of the Regional 10KM Run Earns World Athletics Road Race Label Status, Drawing 84 Athletes and A-Racers from Across the Region

17 August 2026, BANGKOK, Thailand — Speed took center stage over the weekend as the ASICS META : Time : Trials Thailand 2026 returned for its milestone fifth edition, cementing its status as one of Southeast Asia’s premier competitive road races. Held against the stunning backdrop of Bangkok’s Rama 8 Bridge & Park, this year’s event reached a historic high by earning official World Athletics Road Race Label certification for the first time.

Sanctioned by the Athletics Association of Thailand (AAT) and the Asian Athletics Association (AAA), the flagship 10K event drew an electric crowd of over 5,000 general participants alongside an elite lineup of 84 ASICS athletes and A-Racers from across Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, and Korea. Laced up in the cutting-edge METASPEED TOKYO series, competing runners pushed the boundaries of middle-distance speed, resulting in 10 personal bests broken on the certified course.
Setting a New Benchmark for Regional Racing
Reflecting on the evolution of the event, Trin Thanakittivara, Country Manager at ASICS Thailand Co., Ltd., shared:

Indonesian standout Rikki Marthin Luther Simbolon set a blistering pace to claim the men's title, while a competitive chase pack saw notable personal best performances from regional powerhouses, including Malaysia's Daren James Nair (31:51) and Hong Kong's Ho Long Chow (32:07).
