- Ria Chen : Team 100PLUS
Facing confidence issues in the past, Ria Chen has gone from strength to strength leading group classes to become one of the top group trainers in Singapore Meet Team 100PLUS' athletes and digital creators! From high performance athletes representing Singapore at the world stage, to some of the most recognisable everyday citizen athlete content creators, Team 100PLUS is set to bring you through another exciting year of sports compeititons and events and inspire you to continue outdoing yourself! Name: Ria Chen Instagram: @riallyitsme Sport: Fitness Favourite 100PLUS Drink: 100PLUS ACTIVE Is there a song that motivates you? Ria: I don't have a particular song, but I do like heavy beats and I do like to train to EDMs, because every time the beat drops I feel like I want to go all out - 100 per cent during that particular interval. What is the proudest accomplishment of your life? Ria: I think I do enjoy doing a lot of nature activities like hiking, going up mountains and all that. So the most recent one I had in mind would be climbing Mount Kinabalu, it was a very short hike but the moment you reach the peak, even though it was really rainy and we didn't really see the sunrise but the challenges we took to get there - after that when you reach the top you're like wow. You just forget about all the challenges before that. Which is the biggest breakthrough in your life? Ria: One of the biggest breakthroughs I had in my life would be when I started teaching group classes. I used to be quite shy, and I didn't really feel confident being in front of a crowd. But when I started teaching classes that's when you have to be in front of maybe 40 or 60 people, and to be able to conduct a class and guide people through a workout of 45 minutes, that's when I realised I've grown out of my shell and I've become more confident as a person. How do you want to grow in the next 3 years? Ria: It's always been on my bucket list to run a marathon. So I think I will start working towards that, longest distance I've ever run previously was just 10km. So hopefully a half marathon by the end of the year and then hopefully within the next 3 years a full marathon? Any marathons you are looking to do? Ria: Probably the end of the year? Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon. Fingers crossed, we'll see how that goes. What is your favourite hobby outside of sport? Ria: Outside of sports, my second favourite thing would just be horizontal and lie down and sleep. #Team100PLUS #100PLUSSG #OutdoYourself #SportPlusSG

Uncle Sam: We've just started working with young seniors and seniors in Singapore, so the next 3 years I hope to continue to grow this group of community of seniors and help to promote wellness to a whole new demographic than I'm used to. What was one resolution last year that you did not fulfill? Uncle Sam: Grow taller? laughs Last year was a pretty good year where I did a fair bit of stuff, so I guess don't have. What is your favourite hobby outside of sport? Uncle Sam: The silly answer would be parenting. I believe that reaching out through not just basketball but events like this, we will be able to help more individuals cultivate a healthy lifestyle. One word that describes your 2023 and why? If you could relive one moment in your life what would that be? Tristan: I would be training with my teammates in secondary school. I believe that was one of the high points of my life, where after class we would do everything together from trainings to spending time together. We were a very bonded and tight unit, I remember having the time of my life. Who are the 3 people you admire in your life? Tristan: One would be my favourite basketball player Lebron James, the next would be my mom - I love how she takes care of me and is always supportive in what I do, she helps me with my meal prep and makes sure I am well taken care of. The third person would be my dad, he is someone I can always go to for advice not just in life but in sports as well. He was a sportsman when he was younger too, so he is a real role model for me. - Dadima Kimmex : Team 100PLUS
Run captain of Fast and Free Run Club, Dadima has come a long way in her own personal running journey and hopes to empower more runners to outdo themselves in the coming year Meet Team 100PLUS' athletes and digital creators! From high performance athletes representing Singapore at the world stage, to some of the most recognisable everyday citizen athlete content creators, Team 100PLUS is set to bring you through another exciting year of sports compeititons and events and inspire you to continue outdoing yourself! Name: Dadima Kimmex Instagram: @dkiimx Sport: Running Favourite 100PLUS Drink: 100PLUS ACTIVE One word to describe your 2023 and why? Dadima: "Hard work", I worked really hard with my partner to build up a run club and make it a community that is welcoming to everyone - having fun runs twice a week and having everyone get together and become friends and love the sport together. What is something you hope for in 2024? Dadima: In 2024 I hope to continue doing the same thing, "Empowered", and I hope to empower the runners in my run club, and open our doors to more runners - whether they are beginners or training for races, we want to be welcoming to everyone. If you could relive one moment in your life what would it be? Dadima: This sounds weird but I would want to relive my 2XU compression run experience, a race that happened in 2023. It was the first race that I sub 2-houred (half marathon) in, and it has a special place in my heart. I trained really hard for it, and it was an important milestone to hit before I dial down from there, so that was a really special experience for me. At which point in your life did you have the biggest breakthrough? Dadima: I think my 2XU compression run last year was my biggest breakthrough - it is usually a 3-month training block but I only started doing interval trainings in the final month before the race, so I didn't really think I would break 2 hours, it was a huge moment for me. It was so painful but you just got to keep going - it was a mind over matter moment for me. What is your favourite hobby outside of sport? Dadima: I really love to watch K-dramas. I've been watching them since 2012, and it's an unwinding activity for me. I love reading the subtitles, which may be weird for some but I'd rather hear that than the dubbed English voice. #Team100PLUS #100PLUSSG #OutdoYourself #SportPlusSG
