- adidas Unveils Home and Away Kits for UEFA Euro 2024
Seven of Europe’s top teams get bold new kits that reimagine traditional elements with modern cultural identity for a new generation of fans and players Ahead of UEFA Euro 2024™, adidas has unveiled the latest series of technical performance kits for seven of its biggest federations: Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Scotland, Spain and Wales. They will receive reimagined home and away designs, uniting fans and players as teams compete for the coveted Henri Delaunay Cup. The jerseys are built to inspire a sense of pride and belonging, blending traditional elements with modern style to create something truly new for this next generation of players. Building on the canvas of the jersey – a symbol of hope and unity – the adidas design team focused on delivering something that gives an unexpected and fresh perspective from what has come before, while remaining respectful and true to their football heritage. Across the collection, a blend of dynamic shapes and colours express the jubilation and hope that fans and players share ahead of, and during, a major tournament. These concepts are explored in varying ways throughout the collection, including: Fresh application of national colours and exploration into new bolder hues. For example, the rarely seen ‘Tricolore’ for Italy's home and away shirts and a vibrant never-before-seen colour scheme for Germany’s away kit. Recoding traditional patterns and applying them in fresh ways. This includes a modern interpretation of tartan in the Scotland shirt, and patterns reflecting the carnation – the national flower – which adorn the base of Spain’s home and away kits. Introducing fresh symbols to traditional federation wear. The Belgium away kit celebrates the nation’s rich art and design culture, specifically cartoonist Hergé and the comic character he is famously known for: Tintin. Inspired by Tintin’s iconic outfit, a royal nod is found on the back of the collar with a golden crown that glimmers against a bright-blue backdrop Sam Handy, VP of Product and Design at adidas said: ‘The national shirt is the visual symbol that binds a nation together, as its team looks to deliver moments for fans that will last a lifetime. With this, the shirt represents so much more than sport – it represents unity, it represents a passion that connects us, and it represents an identity that is celebrated at its highest during an international tournament." "We bind this emotion and energy by nodding to the intrinsic DNA of each federation, topped with bold new looks, which fans can wear proudly, both in the stands and on the streets this summer’. Crafted for performance and to provide world class players with the confidence to play under pressure, the lightweight jerseys feature the latest in adidas technology and were created in close collaboration with each federation. Each jersey includes either HEAT.RDY technology, optimised to keep players feeling comfortable, or AEROREADY technology, sweat-wicking or absorbent materials that keep players feeling dry. Lighter crests and additional mesh panels are also applied, helping improve airflow and comfort, to help players focus on the game at hand. The newly unveiled federation kits are just one example of how adidas is showing up for fans and athletes at this summer’s tournament. As proud UEFA partners for several decades, adidas provides the official match ball for UEFA EURO 2024™ – FUSSBALLLIEBE – bringing Connected Ball Technology to a UEFA EURO for the first time. - Samuel Kwan : Team 100PLUS
National powerlifter Samuel Kwan may already have broken a few national records, but believes the best is ahead of him and hopes to keep learning Meet Team 100PLUS' athletes and digital creators! From high performance athletes representing Singapore at the world stage, to some of the most recognisable everyday citizen athlete content creators, Team 100PLUS is set to bring you through another exciting year of sports compeititons and events and inspire you to continue outdoing yourself! Name: Samuel Kwan Instagram: @samuelkwxn TikTok: @samuelkwxn Sport: Powerlifting Favourite 100PLUS Drink: 100PLUS PRO Is there any song that inspires you in particular? Samuel: A lot of songs, I usually go to my Spotify playlist it's called "Show Time". It's got a good mix of EDM, some hip-hop, sometimes I like to listen to house and R&B beats, can't really specify which song gets me motivated because every training session I choose a different song. What is the proudest accomplishment in life? Samuel: Finding a girlfriend, just kidding. I recently broke a couple of national records in deadlifts. I wouldn't say those are my proudest achievements, but I would also took quite a fair bit of effort to get to where I'm at in my sport. It definitely didn't come easy so I guess the amalgamations of all my accomplishments in powerlifting competitions is one of the biggest accomplishments in my life. What do you hope to achieve in 2024? Samuel: I hope to make the national team again, representing Singapore. Going to the World Championships in Malta in September, would like to place at the podium as a 74kg lifter, but I am fresh as a 74kg lifter so it might take me a while to get there. I think being able to don the Singapore colours and doing my best is a good enough achievement for me. In the next 3 years, how do you want to grow and what do you wish to learn? Samuel: I would like to grow both mentally and physically because it's something we can never have enough of. Right now a virtue I lack is probably patience, so I do expect a lot of results really fast. So being patient enough to wait for good things to come, takes a lot of time and effort is something I would really want to ingrain in my character so that I would stop mentally breaking down. But also I would like to grow physically bigger. What is your favourite hobby outside of sport? Samuel: Windsurfing is quite fun, but I would like to pick up surfing if it's possible to pick up in Singapore, I don't know. #Team100PLUS #100PLUSSG #OutdoYourself #SportPlusSG

Being involved in a lot of activities including attempting my first marathon in 15 years, everything was a real challenge and trying to manage everything within 24 hours a day. What is something you hope for in 2024? Kenneth: In 2024, I hope to have new challenges, and I also hope to outdo myself in terms of running and sport achievements. I also hope to outdo myself in terms of having more time with family. What kind of people do you get your energy from and where do you find them? Kenneth: To be frank the people I get my energy from are my family. My wife and kid because they are the rock of my life, and having them at home with me or just having them to do activities with me energises me and motivates myself to go further. If you put your mind to something, you can achieve what you set out to do. What is your proudest accomplishment in life? Kenneth: That would be being a father. Very happy to have my son going about our daily activities, he is my priority. Favourite hobby outside of sports? Kenneth: Spending time with my family including my little one. Going out on walks or just having fun at home. #Team100PLUS #100PLUSSG #OutdoYourself #SportPlusSG
- In Pictures: Singapore stuns China in Hard-fought 2-2 Draw at 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers
Singapore took the National Stadium by storm as they drew 2-2 against sleeping Asian giants China, earning their first point of their 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifying campaign Before the game, it would’ve seemed like a 2-2 draw against China was unthinkable. After all, Singapore’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifier campaign had not been going well and China ranked 68 spots above Singapore. It was also new Head Coach Tsutomu Ogura’s first match in charge. It was Faris Ramli and Jacob Mahler who sent the Singapore National Stadium into hysterics when they got on the scoresheet – not forgetting Hassan Sunny whose heroics fueled the jubilation of Singaporean fans among the 28,414 in attendance. First blood was drawn in the 10th minute as one of China’s best strikers of all time, Wu Lei, headed home a curling ball in from outside the box. In a game that was of high intensity and filled with tackles, there were plenty of calls for penalties from both sides – with the first being in the fifth minute. Ryhan Stewart’s last ditch tackle on Li Yuanyi earned a roar from the crowd as the midfielder was through on goal. Referee Shaun Evans waved the game along. He did not do so however in the 29th minute when Nazrul Nazari handled the ball in the box, earning himself a yellow card as a result. Stepping up to the spot was Wu Lei who despite his experience, was no match for Hassan Sunny as the goalkeeper dove to his right and saved the penalty prompting the fans to jump to their feet. Muhammad Zulqarnaen and Glenn Kweh led an attack in the 21st minute which was eventually headed away into safety – but it was the first signs of positivity from Singapore’s frontline. Back in defence, both Safuwan Baharudin and Ryhan were putting in crucial tackles to deny China’s pressing forwards. Eventually in the 45th minute, Wu Lei secured his brace and made it 2-0 for China. Though Hassan had parried away an initial shot from just outside the box, the former La Liga striker was in prime position to pounce on the rebound. Harhys Stewart joined his brother Ryhan on the pitch in the second half. Faris Ramli was also amongst Ogura’s substitutions as the whistle blew – and the two wasted no time in ejecting energy into what was originally a more defensive starting 11. Faris kickstarted Singapore’s comeback in the 52nd minute. Lionel Tan’s long ball over the heads of every player found Faris – who despite being closed down by a pair of defenders – managed to get a foot on the ball. Deflecting off a defender, goalkeeper Yan Junling could not find his footing quite quick enough to get to the ball. It was in the 82nd minute when the National Stadium erupted into a deafening chorus of cheers. With Shah Shahiran’s initial volley blocked by Jiang Guangtai, the ball fell for Mahler. Taking a touch to set it up, the Madura United defender pummeled the ball into the net after Zhang Linpeng and Guaitang failed to clear it away. After earning their first point in the campaign, Singapore are set to face China once more on 26th March at the Tianjin Olympic Centre Stadium in the away fixture.
