The MAGIC SPEED™ Relay promises a thrilling showcase of community running culture, elite pacing, and competitive spirit — all set against the iconic beachfront backdrop of Sentosa.

SINGAPORE, 29 January 2026 – This Saturday, Sentosa's Siloso Beach will transform into a high-energy race arena as over 20 of Singapore’s most passionate run clubs go head-to-head in the ASICS MAGIC SPEED™ Relay Singapore, a knockout-style relay race designed to test speed, strategy, and team chemistry.
With 22 invited teams confirmed, the event promises a thrilling showcase of community running culture, elite pacing, and competitive spirit — all set against the iconic beachfront backdrop of Sentosa.

A Unique Relay Format Built for Speed and Strategy
Unlike traditional road races, the ASICS MAGIC SPEEDâ„¢ Relay introduces a dynamic athlete draw and pole position system, adding an element of unpredictability to every stage of the competition.

Athlete Draw System
All team captains will report to the ASICS team at 6:35pm to draw a number prior to the race. Draw results will be announced both on-site and on-stage.
If two teams in the finals are assigned the same ASICS athlete, the team with the faster timing from the knockout stage will have the option to either retain the current athlete or redraw for a new one — introducing a strategic layer to team decisions.
Pole Position System
For the knockout stages, ASICS will randomly assign pole positions to each team. In the finals, pole position will be determined based on the fastest timing from the knockout round, with the quickest team choosing last.

Knockout Stage: 10KM Relay Showdown
Each team will be required to complete a total distance of 10KM in a relay format, made up of 1KM loops along Siloso Beach.
Team Composition
Each team must consist of:
2 male runners
2 female runners
1 ASICS athlete (assigned via random draw)

Each runner must complete at least one 1KM loop. Teams are free to decide their own rotation order, with no restrictions on how runners are deployed — allowing captains to play to individual strengths and race strategy.
Only the six fastest teams by overall timing will advance to the finals.
Final Round: Only the Fastest Survive
The Final Round will follow the same 10KM relay format, with the top six teams battling it out for podium positions.
Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 finishing teams, raising the stakes for Singapore’s most competitive run clubs.

Team Up with an ASICS Athlete
A highlight of the ASICS MAGIC SPEEDâ„¢ Relay is the opportunity for teams to run alongside an ASICS athlete. Athlete-team pairings will be determined through a random draw conducted on-site before the race.
Each ASICS athlete is permitted to run a maximum of 2KM per round (knockout and finals), making their contribution a critical tactical factor in overall team performance.
Wild Cards Revealed: ASICS Athletes Set to Ignite the Race
Adding even more excitement, ASICS has unveiled its Wild Card roster, featuring some of the region’s standout runners ready to inject elite pace into the relay:
Featured ASICS Athletes:
Ahmad Arif Ibrahim, Jeevan Sounda, Jon Lim, Luke Chua, Rachel Longstaff, Serena Teoh, Goh Shing Ling, Bigyan Limbu, Pravin Bohara, Kiran Limbu, Sesehang Nembang, Prashant Tamang
With this calibre of athletes in the mix, expect explosive pace, tactical surges, and unpredictable race dynamics.
