Through the Tunnel is a roving exhibition that celebrates 30 years of Singapore football history while rallying support for the Singapore national football team as they prepare to face the Bangladesh national football team at the National Stadium on 31 March

SINGAPORE, 24 February 2026 – A major Singapore football exhibition is set to tour the heartlands from 26 February, building excitement ahead of the Lions’ final AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifier against Bangladesh on 31 March 2026.
Titled Through the Tunnel, the roving exhibition celebrates 30 years of Singapore football history while rallying support for the Singapore national football team as they prepare to face the Bangladesh national football team at the National Stadium.

Singapore Football Exhibition Showcases 30 Years of Triumph
Developed in partnership with The Straits Times and Playback Asia, Through the Tunnel traces pivotal chapters in Singapore football’s evolution. Drawing on archival reportage and photography, the exhibition revisits defining moments that shaped the national game — from Singapore’s first international trophy in 1998 to the dominant era under former head coach Radojko Avramovic.
The journey culminates in the dramatic 2–1 victory over the Hong Kong national football team in November 2025, a result that secured qualification for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 on merit. That historic night ensured Singapore’s place at the Finals and marked a new chapter for the national side.
Beyond historic milestones, the exhibition also spotlights the present generation of Lions. Profiles of selected players, alongside reflections from captain Hariss Harun and head coach Gavin Lee, provide insight into the standards, mentality and ambition driving the team forward.

Exhibition Locations Across Singapore’s Heartlands
The travelling Singapore football exhibition will first open at Our Tampines Hub on 26 and 27 February before heading to Bishan Community Club from 13 to 15 March. It will then conclude its run at Kallang Wave Mall from 22 to 31 March, in the lead-up to the highly anticipated Singapore vs Bangladesh clash.
By bringing the exhibition directly into community spaces, organisers aim to deepen fans’ connection to Singapore football and inspire strong support for the Lions’ final qualifying fixture.
A key highlight of Through the Tunnel is a special series of Singapore football collectable cards produced by Playback Asia in collaboration with the Football Association of Singapore (FAS). The collection commemorates iconic moments, including the 30th anniversary of Singapore’s historic Malaysia League and Malaysia Cup double in 1994, as well as memorable scenes from the November victory over Hong Kong that sealed Asian Cup qualification.

Singapore vs Bangladesh: A Celebration at the National Stadium
With AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualification already secured, the Lions will now focus on finishing their campaign strongly against Bangladesh. The 31 March fixture at the National Stadium will not only mark the team’s final home match of the qualifying campaign but also serve as a celebration of their successful journey.
Fans attending the Singapore vs Bangladesh match can look forward to a vibrant match-day atmosphere, with live entertainment, fan zones and interactive activities planned around the stadium precinct. From celebrity performances to themed exhibitions and pre-match festivities, the event promises to bring supporters together in celebration of the Lions’ achievements.
Tickets for the Asian Cup qualifier are available via Ticketek, the official FAS website and at The Kallang Box Office on match day, subject to availability.
As anticipation builds across the island, Through the Tunnel stands as both a tribute to Singapore football’s proud history and a rallying call for supporters to fill the National Stadium on 31 March. With momentum on their side and a place at the AFC Asian Cup 2027 secured, the Lions will look to deliver one more memorable performance in front of their home crowd. #SgFootball #ThroughTheTunnel #AFCAsianCupQualifiers
