Singapore's Premier World Athletics Gold Label Marathon Unveils Expanded Early Train Services, Dedicated Medic Runners, and a Revamped National Stadium Race Expo for December 2026

SINGAPORE, 31 JULY 2026 - The 2026 BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas is rolling out major enhancements for runners, featuring complimentary early-morning MRT services, innovative safety layers, and a revamped Race Expo experience at the National Stadium.
As Southeast Asia's only World Athletics Gold Label road race and Singapore's official national marathon, this year's event introduces strategic partnerships aimed at elevating the runner experience from the starting line to the finish chute.
Easier Access: Complimentary Early Hours MRT Services
Getting to the early-morning flag-off at the F1 Pit Building just got easier. SG International Marathon Pte Ltd (SGIMPL) has partnered with Stellar Ace, a business arm of SMRT Corporation Ltd, to launch an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) providing complimentary early hours train travel.
Date: Sunday, 6 December 2026 (for the BYD Marathon)
Operating Hours: 2.30 AM to 4.30 AM
Lines Covered: Selected sections along the North-South, East-West, and Circle Lines
Frequency: Every 15 minutes
Last Departure: 4.30 AM from Bukit Batok, Jurong East, Tanah Merah, and Serangoon stations
Cost: 100% complimentary for all registered runners and their supporters

Paid shuttle bus services will also operate across race weekend to support participants without direct MRT access, with further details to be announced on the official website.
Enhanced Safety: Introduction of Medic Runners
Safety remains a top priority for Singapore's premier marathon. Setting a new benchmark for local distance running events, SGIM is introducing Medic Runners for the adidas Half Marathon and the BYD Marathon.
The Initiative: Up to 200 certified first-aid-trained runners will be deployed directly on the race course.
Expertise: Over 20% of the 1,200+ applicants are qualified healthcare professionals.
Role: Equipped with specialised bibs, Medic Runners will deliver immediate, on-the-ground life-saving assistance before professional medical response teams arrive.

Applications for the Medic Runners programme are open until mid-August 2026 via the SGIM Medic Runners page. Applicants must hold valid certifications in CPR, AED, and basic first aid, and commit to mandatory training runs.
Wider Reach: Revamped Race Expo at the National Stadium
In partnership with The Kallang Group, the entire 2026 race weekend is moving to a fully integrated format within the iconic National Stadium and Kallang precinct.
Race Pack Collection: Hosted at Arena Park.
Race Expo & Finish Line: For the first time, the Race Expo breaks away from traditional standalone formats, moving directly inside the National Stadium alongside the finish line.
What to Expect: Free admission for the public, live bands, athlete panel sessions, meet-and-greets with elite international athletes, limited-edition merchandise, and diverse F&B options.

Bigger Rewards: BYD SEALION 7 & Friends of SGIM Perks
Participants can look forward to lucrative rewards, highlighted by the chance to win a BYD SEALION 7.
Additionally, the newly launched Friends of SGIM programme connects runners with more than 20 homegrown businesses and local SMEs across F&B, wellness, and recovery sectors. From 1 July to 31 December 2026, registered runners can redeem exclusive discounts simply by presenting their race registration at participating local outlets—including household names like Sarnies, Nylon Coffee Roasters, Project Acai, Shelter, and FORGED by RF.
